So ... I ... just wanted to write about these
Webcomic List Awards that are happening. You do have to be a webcomic creator to participate in this particular event.
I kind of feel weird bringing it up?
I guess because I kind of draw a web comic and am obviously interested in being voted for.
But more relevantly, it's really important to try and support the comics you read. Even with just favs ... or comments... or voting here or elsewhere. The most heartbreaking sensation ever is the feeling that you put everything imaginable into a project and no one reads it. Watching DA, it seems like it's
so hard to get anyone to even just fav comics. I don't know why it is that way ... maybe readers feel like they've fav'd one page, so that's all. Comics take ten times the time and patience and hairpullingoutingness as a regular illustration though, I think. For far less satisfying a reader reaction. =___= (Unless you draw an animal comic. Have you noticed that? Holy Hell, I don't know how, but animal comics get favs out the double wazzoo.)
At no point will I or anyone else ever know who you voted for, so you're safe. I'll never know you went and voted "Anal Fire BL" for every option. (I dare you.)
-------------
If you're unable to participate in this particular event but you still feel like being supportive of perhaps particularly TG, I noticed some time ago that TG was added to The Webcomic List.
If you'd like to fav it there or leave a comment, that's kind of like voting for it. ^^ But don't feel pressured. You'd have to make an account and junk ... only do it if it's no trouble.
I don't think it's odd to bring it up at all; thought I also find it hard to ask people to 'vote for me'. Even if you have difficulty asking people to vote for you, it's always good to make mention, and ask people to be involved.
I hope to see TG win something! I'm sure it will - a lot of people love what you do! <3
Not to sound completely selfish but as much as I would drool over a yaoi comic by you. . .
That is supposed to make sense i swear... (it's not creepy that I enjoy reading your comments between others under your journals is it?.. sorry off topic) Okay so what I'm trying to say is, you are unique and I think the readers you do get will be more loyal to you and follow you through other storys past TG, vs. fan girls looking for a quick hot read. If you let yourself be swayed by that you may unfortuantly find yourself unable to get your readers to see past the BL. Granted this opinion really only matters if you were to drop TG and push out cliche' typical BL stories instead.
I know your plate is already full, but I am not saying don't every draw yaoi... hell now you've got me drooling for some yaoi done by you! But I would try to keep it separate from TG as possible. God now I think I've gone and lost what I swear was supposed to be coherent comment.
Let me try again. Keep up with TG (please) it is a rare gem and I am truly looking forward to getting even more into this world of yours. To many comics out there are praticaly carbon copies of other more popular series, or are such walking cliche's that I go cross eyed trying to list them all, and the fact that you treat your comic as a story and that just happens to be best told via pictures is something at least I know I appriciate. But yes it is true things like yaoi sell, but it is best not do rely soley on that or to drop your current project because as easy as it might be to get in, it will be so much harder to try and get out of it, or work on any stories that aren't yaoi. If you ever get to a point with your comics where you can, I do recomend inbetween TG pages, working on pehaps a yaoi doujinshi. Or maybe even just some fanart for yaoi couples. (if it's strictly for $$ I do recomend fanart based yaoi. fanart =$ and yaoi = $ so fanart yaoi =$$
I started out drawing mostly disney fanart here on DA, and when I stopped at least 20 out of 24 watchers became inactive. Kinda hurt to know it wasn't me, or really my work but just the fact it was disney that made them watch me.
Um I should end on something positive. . . that won't make me seem like a complete loon..... think think think. . . I know! Sometimes I am so amazed by your pages I actually have to walk away and come back several times just to stare at it before I can form a coherent comment.
And now that I've started following so many comics, along with trying to keep up with my own, it's that much more difficult to comment, when that's exactly what I want as a comic-MAKER.
Such a cruel cycle. :/
Either way, yes. I'll vote for you. <:
WE NEED TO SPREAD COMIC-APPRECIATION AWARENESS. T:<
I suppose I'm part of the readership problem...
If I'm really reeeeally behind I just buy the print version if/when there is one.
