Probably that title and the link to the project are enough, but I guess there's some expectation that when one clicks on a journal to read it, there would actually be words to read??

WELL THIS CALENDAR IS A THING. Or at least it WILL be a thing if it's funded.

And if it gets funded I get to make art for it???? For the month of April!! I really want this calendar to be funded. ;_; I've got some rough drawings already done up because patience isn't something I have.
I don't know if anyone at all will be interested. T_T But maybe.

Two slots only.
1.:icond-oublehelix: ref: [link]
2.:icondemongoddessslayer: ref: [link]

And thank you to :iconmechacharibdys: and :iconnahalenna: for also being interested in commissions! >< <3

These are waist or bust up watercolor portrait commissions, 40$, about 5x7 inches or slightly different shaped depending on composition needs. Includes just one character and a background of my choice (expect things like flowers, trees, windows, but not hugely rendered bgs). You can make suggestions for background elements if you want.

I will draw:
animals
furries
humans
romance, but rated r or lower, not ready to go to rated x yet
gay stuff
strait stuff
all the genders

I probably suck at:
machinery related things, but hell, I'll try it

I'd love references if you've got them

40$ includes a high res scan of your commission (when my new scanner comes in the mail).

Shipping, if desired:
5$ in the US
7$ to Canada
10$ to everywhere else

I guess you could leave a comment here if you're interested or note me?? I don't at this point have samples because it's been years since I did online commissions, but I do have a gallery full of images. Does that count? D8
It's available online now!

My brand new art book, created as a group project with *Cinnamoron

***Limited quantities of books (presently, 10 books) are signed by both artists! I've signed in silver on my cover, Amanda has signed in gold on hers.

This is a unique book in that it has no front or back cover, exactly. From whatever side you pick the book up at, you'll read to the middle of the book, and then you flip the book over vertically to right side up the other artist. In this way, both of us can sell the book at our own shows and always appear to be the featured artist. :P It's pretty great.

More pictures coming as soon as I can pull myself together enough to handle some photography. This listing is for those of you who don't even care, just, BOOK. Here are a couple illustrations that are featured in the book:

+ 5.5" inch square book
+ 24 semigloss pages on 80lb paper of our most popular canine art, accompanied by a few sketches of our characters (noteably: my character Sedna and Amanda's character Kana.)
+ hard bound
+ soft touch matte laminated cover
+ endsheet printing (that paper in hardbound books that attaches to the interior cover)
+ 80lb semigloss interior pages

Uuuuuuhm it's pretty much just a really nice feeling book with pretty pictures of wolves and foxes who sometimes take a human form. It isn't hugely plot driven. Expect a pile of eye candy and a cover so nice to pet you rub your face against it.
Okay before ECCC or art books are discussed, just go check out *Cinnamoron's postcard giveaway. X3 And you better check out her art if you haven't done! D8 But by now you've probably seen it because she and I are at every con together so hey.

EMERALD CITY COMIC CON!
Self explanatory. If you're gonna be there, here's a map to find us in the middle of everything else that will be super distracting to you.
If I don't see you, it's okay, I understand. You're at the pony booth. I'M THERE TOO OH HO HO.

ART BOOKS!

I suck at announcing new awesome merchandise! So please pardon me, I'm skipping over the effort to make a big announcement that awes, inspires, and ropes you into spending money immediately. Instead I'll just say, ART BOOKS. *Cinnamoron and I have both wanted to make an art book for absolutely years. We've wanted to join group projects to make an art book. We've wanted to begin group projects. We've wanted to make our own books. We've wanted to make fan books and fan comics. WE'VE WANTED TO MAKE ALL THE THINGS, but we never ... actually.......... have. For all the excuses. So instead of making more excuses, I feel like I decided not to come up with anymore, and to FINALLY make an art book.

This book I regard as being the first art book or group project with Amanda out of hopefully many more in the future, whenever we get together it's a huge idea spoodge. This is a beautiful little book, printed so that one side is her art, one side is my art, and you flip it over so both covers look like they could be front covers! It's hard bound, 24 pages, matte laminated cover, and filled with our canine art. It's kind of based around her character Kana (fox girl) and my character Sedna (wolf monster) and a romance between them that mostly is ridiculous. XD The book includes a lot of them, and a few other illustrations we've done of wolves and foxes and coyotes.

I'm absolutely in love with this book. X3

We had a test run of books at Ohayocon, but this is the big huge print run of books! Available first at ECCC, and then when we come home the books will be available online.

ajsdf;laksdflasdf This project is important to me, because I want it to be the beginning of more! I want group comic projects, collab illustrations, and fanbooks, so bad!

:la:

I'LL SHUT UP NOW.

SEE YOU AT THE PONY BOOTH AT ECCC.
And I never thought I'd say that?

I even also like Tumblr, but maybe slightly less than FA and Etsy.

If you feel like following me on places:

On FurAffinity, artists that are totally not accessible on DA are more social. ;__; omg I actually talked to some people. It's really cool.

PEOPLE ACTUALLY BUY THINGS ON ETSY HOW IS THIS HAPPENING I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

Tumblr is still a mystery to me but I guess I have it anyway. ^^;

Huuuuuuuuuuuh It probably says a lot that actually talking to people on Fur Affinity was worth a DA journal. T___T;;; God, I really suck at meeting people. It's a point of permanent misery in my life that I am irrevocably introverted. I mean, that makes for awesome long lasting friendships, but first I have to meet people to befriend. buuuuh.

Losing Altitude is a charity art book dedicated to endangered bird species!
Kickstarter #1: [link]
Submission Info: [link]

The first kickstarter did fail! BUT I'M KIND OF HAPPY ABOUT THAT BECAUSE IT MEANS I GET TO SUBMIT SOMETHING TO THIS PRETTY ART BOOK NOW AND SO CAN YOU (pictured above, I started doodling while standing in line at the post office. Murrelets are the cutest bird blobs ever.) Kickstarter #2 is taking submissions until the end of January with fundraising beginning in May! This time, with a 5000$ goal instead of 7,500$.

So, yus, just jounaling to anyone who might be interested in joining a nifty bird book.
Hey, yep, gonna be there with *Cinnamoron and #AmyaChronicles. I'll be there exhibiting at a show! c:

If you happen to know me online and you come up to me at the show and ask me "HEY WHERE IS YOUR PONY OR POKEMON ART?!?!?" weeeeeell. I may have to disappoint you. Unless you wanted to buy it now and have it dropped off over coffee next weekend!

Some work I won't have with me at that show in Ohio:

11x17s are 1 for 15$ or 2 for 20$. See full blob of them here.
There are also postcards at 2 for 5$.

Soooooooo yep. If you feel like it, it's an option.

See some of you there! ~ X3 I'm kinda excited. I've never been to Columbus!
I'm such a bad manga fan. And a bad fan of other cultures' clothing?!? But I mean I'm not just drawing a thing, I'm needing to write a description of a thing! OH I'M SO AWKWARD. DX *sob* So I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me. I'm googling, but am failing to come up with the correct keywords and kind of need to solve the mystery sooner rather than later.

SO I know that layers are typical, though not so much now with centralized heat and air.

I'm looking at these photos and wondering what these three robes are, what are their various functions are, if they're worn beneath other type of robe??

This specific query deals with Japanese robes, but oh I would so love descriptions or references of similar robes from Korea, Mongolia, China, Thailand, Cambodia .... I know that time periods have different garments, I'm most interested in what is commonly found today.
Kinda looking for hotel buddies at these two cons. D8 Also, I have a spare badge through my Ohayocon table. For a table assistant. If anyone would like to have this badge for Ohayocon, all you'd have to do for me as my assistant is make food runs once (or twice) daily for me and maybe a few other people. We'd buy our food, obviously, just can't get away from our tables to run and get it. ><

And when I go without drinking coffee, I become evil. +___+ That is the real necessity of a table assistant. Coffee fetching is very important.

I feel energized looking at this Ohayocon list! This artist alley is going to be full of great artists!! I so hope the AA will be well attended. >< It deserves to be.

Short journal is short.

8/ Am stressed and working.

Thanks for your comments, I know I barely reply anymore. x___x Or post much. haha, I'm definitely here though, drawing a lot. Drawing lots of TG, lots of Destined Legends cards, and some random illustrations. uhuhu. T___T; Thanks for being around for me, it does sort of motivate me sometimes, when there are comments and stuffs.

Is this just a really weird terror that I have? O_o; Or does this cross anyone else's mind?

I'm really afraid of .... drawing what I like. Or I'm afraid that all of my work is of the same thing / stuff / identical compositions / same looking characters. Like I've boxed myself in now. I have a "style."

I think more accurately I'm most afraid of not improving. T____T; I could get comfortable with what I have. I could stop trying new things. I'm afraid of this because sometimes I actually like my art. Other times I find myself thinking I enjoy watercolor and don't want to try anything else - but I know that to improve I have to expand and try new stuff! I've wished for a long time to buy a new computer. One that could ... maybe ... someday ... handle a cintiq. Because digital painting influences my watercolor painting so much. AH but I can't afford a cintiq.

//// Mostly I just find myself feeling entirely useless and lame. I am a working adult, and I still spend time gazing at other artists' work and wishing to draw or paint like that over there. I thought adulthood would be different. D8 I ... want to spend more time being a student. I don't want to do my own thing right now. >< I want to go study someone else.

It also feels like I've married myself off to watercolor and color work in general when what I really love is sketching. But my sketches are so disappointing to me because I don't do enough sketchwork for my sketchwork to be nice and pretty like other peoples' because I'm too busy coloring to be sketching!

*standingincornercryingintohandsnow*

*sob* This is such a dumb journal. It's like 3am, I have so much art to do I can't not art. Maybe sometime tomorrow I'll remember why art is nice and feel better about the whole ordeal.

Click now or give up on life.

Wow this kickstarter has been remarkably successful! Last night it reached 17500, the point at which I get to draw another big fancy legend card .... and now ... it is only 1000 away from A HUGE LANDMARK. 20000$, but more importantly the reward for that will be that the game starts getting into water and earth themed cards! (Currently it's sticking to Dark and Fire cards.)

So yeah. 8 hours. 1000$. doitdoitdoit.

Weasyl Invite?

Wed Nov 14, 2012, 5:06 PM
I wish I could have one. 8( But I suck at making friends, so getting invited to anything doesn't happen unless I write a silly journal about it and maybe someone takes pity on me.

ps. Thanks for all the responses about my crashed external drive. I haven't made any move to recover the data off it yet. T___T I just don't want to fight with the evil little box. But I better make the time soon to fix it. Auuuu I'm also having problems with my 10 year old computer (not surprising) and with my relatively young scanner. :/ All of this just as I'm moving out and having to buy other things for living. I hate money, fuck it.

Uhm. I'm kind of in shock.

I bought a new external hard drive in June. Not even 6 months old. I've just realized that it crashed. And I'm not really sure what to do... I guess I'm wondering if it's common place that a computer shop can salvage lost data off of external hard drives? I don't really ... uuuuh.... have money to pay a shop just to take a looksie and find nothing. But if a shop could somehow retrieve data, I'd pay for it. But does that even happen? Is that just a fantasy movie universe?

Geez... I just am not even, I'm almost trying to keep from remembering everything I just lost.

Layered files of a lot of art. All my music, but I don't care about that. A whooooole lot of art. Reference photos I took of Savannah. Texture files I made and scanned, digital tones, even programs. Painter is gone.

You're right, this happens to other people all the time. Ignore me. I'll be over here crying. I have no idea what to do right now.

Hey! Last 2 days for the coyote!

Tue Oct 30, 2012, 2:13 PM
And do you know why you should go vote? I'm gonna give away some more postcards if it wins. If the coyote wins a 50$ gift certificate in the monthly contest, that's worth at least some postcards and shipping to me. X3

Vote for the coyote in October's monthly voting contest.

And this piece is in the current weekly contest, if you have an extra moment for a second vote. I'd kind of nerd over a TG piece being a weekly winner.

Hey, thank you so much to everyone who has voted, and especially to everyone who's come back to vote repeatedly! It's a big deal to me! Currently I've had three pieces be weekly winners. That's 30$ in gift certificates to Daniel Smith! That's practically money in the bank, I say. I spend so much on art supplies, I'm not buying arbitrary wants with these gift certificates, I'm buying stuff I actually really need.

Here's a quick feature of some other DA artists who have entered Daniel Smith's contest and won weekly 10$ gift certificates!

This contest can still be entered, if you work in traditional media.

Here's what I used the gift certificates for so far:

A 19$ triad set containing Cerulean Blue, Hooker's Green, and Cadmium Red Scarlet. DS makes AMAZING triads. It's three tubes of paint that are picked out because they mix well together, and then are sold at a discount. For reals. That Cerulean blue is 13$ by itself at regular retail price. I am such a huge fan of Daniel Smith as a company. Their triads also ship for free! AND NOT ONLY ALL OF THAT, but because I was a winner in their contest, they let met add one more tube of paint to the triad. Not for free, I paid for the extra tube of paint, but I DIDN'T have to pay extra shipping, I still got the free triad shipping.

I grabbed a beautiful Naples Yellow to go with that Cerulean Blue. These are two colors I use a lot of. I've never had a Hooker's Green or Cadmium Red Scarlet, so I guess we'll see how those other two triad colors are. I love a color experiment.

I should also note that ~Alecat was really generous with me recently and bought me a gift of Quinacridone Gold! I've seen this color mentioned in pallet inclusions by several professionals so I've wanted to try it! I love DS's quinacridone colors, they can only be described as neon autumn hues.

Going forward, if I were to win a 50$ gift certificate and/or another weekly gift certificate, this is the stuff I'd totally love to get:

Lunar Black is a heavily granulated pigment. I've never worked with anything grainy! I've tended to only use smooth colors. I'd really like to try out something rougher.

I've never used metallic leaf, but I've been wanting to for the past 3 years. For those who have seen me at a convention in 2012, you've probably seen my <a href=[link]">shiny wolf print. That print is done with foil printing. You know, by an awesome professional print company. That print has been so popular, I've wanted to try administering gold foil to my original paintings.

This is just really pretty red foil. It's unreasonable to want this on top of the gold foil starter kit, but I just do. +___+ It's so pretty. I want to rub my face against it. Maybe also roll in it. pretty pretty pretty.

And the last big thing that I'm kind of dreading buying because it's such an expense ... mat board.

I bought a nice mat cutter as a Christmas gift to myself in 2011. Throughout 2012, I cut some AWESOME mats. It was a big deal, it really was. They looked fantastic at conventions and sold for good money. I went through two huge boxes of mat board last year (+ a bunch of individual sheets of specialty colors bought from local shops) and I didn't just cut mats for myself but also for *RadiusZero, *Cinnamoron, #AmyaChronicles, and ~Blue-Ten. It's important that I should bulk order this stuff and get it at a good price, but by bulk order, I mean hundreds of dollars worth. More money than I could win gift certificates for, but every little bit helps.

That's why voting for these pieces in this contest might be really super awesome. I'd really appreciate it.

I'm doin' art for this awesome game!!

A thing I worked on!

Mon Oct 22, 2012, 4:01 PM
That I've already written about on every other social media type thing I have available to me, so I'm sorry if you've already seen this. ;__;

It's that I really care about it and wish I could do something useful to promote it, but I feel I am - and this is a pretty big accomplishment - I am absolutely the worst at promoting anything. There is absolutely nothing I can say or do to interest anyone on the internet.

Sooooooo ..... HERE'S A PWETTY PIKTAR.

Photobucket

You really should. If you work in traditional media. They're really giving away a lot of prizes, I keep wondering what sort of odd catch these gift certificates will come with. O_o;;; Can't just be 10$ off any purchase, gotta have some annoying stipulation in it.

It might just be a 10$ gift certificate. O_O Could that really be?

Today my pony thing was a weekly winner.

AND Jojo's dead grandma won too:

And up to 48 other things won as well, as there can be 50 10$ winners a week.

The coyote can be voted on all month long in their monthly category AND YOU KNOW WHAT, if I were to win a monthly prize (50$ gift certificate) I've decided I'm going to do another postcard give away. X3 So please vote if you want postcards. You can vote every 24 hours.

If you decide to enter the contest, do post your entry in a comment here. I'd love to see it.

OH MAN I ACTUALLY WON A THING.

Wed Oct 3, 2012, 9:29 AM
That coyote won 10$ WOOOOOO.

From that Daniel Smith contest I angsted over getting you to vote for last week. I won an entire 10$ gift certificate that I'm waiting on to come in the mail. XD WOOOOOOOOO~ yeah I will take 10$. Thanks so much for voting for my art!

But I must alert you that 10$ is a mere tip of the iceberg, here.

This seems to be a long running contest with several tiers.

Now that Naches Coyote won at the "weekly" stage, it enters the "monthly" stage, for which the prize is a 50$ gift certificate and several winners can be chosen. X3 They say up to 20 winners, from a pool of about 100 pieces. So I mean those chances seem pretty good to me. >__>

Uh yeeeeaaaaah can I also remind you that a single tube of Cerulean Blue or Cobalt Blue is about 20$.

WANNA HELP ME MORE? MAYBE? MAYBE? And see more paintings from me? You could go and vote for that coyote again.

And also vote for the Morning and Evening MLP, which is now entered in their weekly contest and will enter the monthly stage if it receives enough votes.

Also, with some right clicking and tab finagling, I found it IS possible to get a direct link to one's contest submission! I stand corrected!

I hate contests ... I so rarely ever win anything or get anyone to vote for me. o__o This is new. People actually voted? What is that?

If you work with traditional media, this might be a contest you'd be interested in.

Ugh, this contest. The prizes are pretty awesome, but trying to describe to you how to vote is stupid.

Daniel Smith is the brand of paint I use a lot of. It's damn expensive though. They have an annual contest in which a bunch of people can win gift certificates. However, it requires stupid voting. The voting is especially stupid because, let's all face it, whenever voting is required it's a popularity contest and who gives a crap. =___= OH I'M NOT THE PRETTIEST GIRL ON THE PLAYGROUND? If I could redo my childhood, I'd have no problem decking the pretty girl in the face. But besides being a useless popularity contest, this contest doesn't give you a direct link to your own submission and that especially is why it gets to be called stupid.

If you like my work, I am depending on you to not only click a link .... but to click several links and even type a thing.

If you are 10 and you have no attention span for clicking links and typing things, you may now stop reading and go watch TV.

If you are NOT 10, here are directions to help me win paint, if you do at all like my paintings and wish to see more paintings in the future:
1. Go here. [link]
2. In the search field which is located above the gallery but beneath the introductory paragraph, type "coyote."
3. You'll get a mutilated stretched-to-fit version of my most recent painting to click on.
4. Then you must log in with facebook or make an account to cast a vote.

IS THAT KIND OF A LOT OF WORK? Yes, all that typing and clicking. If I didn't actually NEED paint so badly, I would not be asking you to pain yourself.

IF YOU YOUR VERY EXCELLENT SELF ARE A PAINTER you might also be interested in this contest!
1. Read this thing. [link]
2. Type some stuff. [link]
3. And then when your entry goes live, please post a comment in this journal so I can go click some links and type a thing for you too.

I hate contests. Bah humbug. But I really need some paint. 8( Those expensive Cerulean and Cobalt blues specifically.

Some might know that I'm moving to Baltimore. X3 To go share a studio space in an epic palace of an apartment that unfortunately is located in a mediocre neighborhood. :/ So that's happening right now! I've gone silent and have a million notes and emails to reply to. x___x Looking forward to living on the east coast for a while though! I'd like to spend time in some of these big east coast cities, I'm really excited to maybe get to visit Boston someday! And New York again! But oh please, I'm not going to be able to speak your language up there. >< You say you speak English, but I'm not entirely convinced. O_o Especially when you're on the phone.

I'll be arriving in Baltimore just in time for Baltimore Comic Con! I'm AA table 91.

Now that I'm moving, I guess I need to buy a printer. 8( I have no idea what to get. It doesn't need to make fabulous art prints. It just needs to be a cheap ass box that prints b/w and has cheap ink or maybe even offers ink refills. I've liked HP as a brand, but I think they don't offer ink refills?? So maybe .... Epson? Don't know. Need crappy printer to print my digital sketches and lightbox onto watercolor paper.

Also, sort of not officially, leaving me comments right now might be really cool. T__T They might not get replied to, but talking to others, or getting talked at, would be a really nice distraction from the sadness of moving. I mean, I'm looking forward to Baltimore, but leaving WA and friends and family and dog is a heart break. This dog, she has a sixth sense. She seems to know something is wrong, she comes to me and sits and looks at me when she normally would be sleeping. The only thing keeping me from being completely sad and scared is knowing that I'm moving in with three of my most best friends in the world and also, TG, even if it doesn't get updated as much as it should. >__>

*sob*

And pray for me please. Pray specifically that my luggage doesn't get lost in the very notorious Atlanta airport, which for some reason I must be routed through in order to fly from Seattle to Baltimore. =______________=;;; Atlanta, I like you, but your airport is a big disaster, and asking me to trust you with my very special watercolor paint is too much.

Weeeee 300K ^^ Postcard winners.

Thu Aug 23, 2012, 1:58 PM
haha, DA gave a bunch of people the 300K view, but I know that happens and was kind of expecting it.

:iconkeinzantezuken:
:iconkimir-ra::iconsionra: - do you guys mind if I combine your shipping? You live near each other?
:iconrhealm:

If you guys just wanna pick out 5 postcards each from here [link] and then note me with your requests and addresses, I'll get everything shipped soon! c:

And awwww
:icond-oublehelix:
You were close, so you get a journal feature at least. >< Thanks for trying and noting me!

Thank you so much everybody!
I really enjoy the DA community and such. ^^
And wow, it was something like 400 views away and then they all just blew by after 10 minutes, that was fast. D8 I was thinking it would happen just sometime today.

:3

One more question as I try to get out of my lazy streak: which one of these illustrations? I've got finished sketches for all three of them. @__@ And I love all the sketches.
