And do you know why you should go vote? I'm gonna give away some more postcards if it wins. If the coyote wins a 50$ gift certificate in the monthly contest, that's worth at least some postcards and shipping to me. X3
Hey, thank you so much to everyone who has voted, and especially to everyone who's come back to vote repeatedly! It's a big deal to me! Currently I've had three pieces be weekly winners. That's 30$ in gift certificates to Daniel Smith! That's practically money in the bank, I say. I spend so much on art supplies, I'm not buying arbitrary wants with these gift certificates, I'm buying stuff I actually really need.
Here's a quick feature of some other DA artists who have entered Daniel Smith's contest and won weekly 10$ gift certificates!

This contest can still be entered, if you work in traditional media. Here's what I used the gift certificates for so far:

A 19$ triad set containing Cerulean Blue, Hooker's Green, and Cadmium Red Scarlet. DS makes AMAZING triads. It's three tubes of paint that are picked out because they mix well together, and then are sold at a discount. For reals. That Cerulean blue is 13$ by itself at regular retail price. I am such a huge fan of Daniel Smith as a company. Their triads also ship for free! AND NOT ONLY ALL OF THAT, but because I was a winner in their contest, they let met add one more tube of paint to the triad. Not for free, I paid for the extra tube of paint, but I DIDN'T have to pay extra shipping, I still got the free triad shipping.

I grabbed a beautiful Naples Yellow to go with that Cerulean Blue. These are two colors I use a lot of. I've never had a Hooker's Green or Cadmium Red Scarlet, so I guess we'll see how those other two triad colors are. I love a color experiment.

I should also note that ~
Alecat was really generous with me recently and bought me a gift of Quinacridone Gold! I've seen this color mentioned in pallet inclusions by several professionals so I've wanted to try it! I love
DS's quinacridone colors, they can only be described as neon autumn hues.
Going forward, if I were to win a 50$ gift certificate and/or another weekly gift certificate, this is the stuff I'd totally love to get:

Lunar Black is a heavily granulated pigment. I've never worked with anything grainy! I've tended to only use smooth colors. I'd really like to try out something rougher.

I've never used metallic leaf, but I've been wanting to for the past 3 years. For those who have seen me at a convention in 2012, you've probably seen my <a href=
[link]">shiny wolf print. That print is done with foil printing. You know, by an awesome professional print company. That print has been so popular, I've wanted to try administering gold foil to my original paintings.

This is just really pretty red foil. It's unreasonable to want this on top of the gold foil starter kit, but I just do. +___+ It's so pretty. I want to rub my face against it. Maybe also roll in it. pretty pretty pretty.
And the last big thing that I'm kind of dreading buying because it's such an expense ... mat board.

I bought a nice mat cutter as a Christmas gift to myself in 2011. Throughout 2012, I cut some AWESOME mats. It was a big deal, it really was. They looked fantastic at conventions and sold for good money. I went through two huge boxes of mat board last year (+ a bunch of individual sheets of specialty colors bought from local shops) and I didn't just cut mats for myself but also for *

Blue-Ten. It's important that I should bulk order this stuff and get it at a good price, but by bulk order, I mean hundreds of dollars worth. More money than I could win gift certificates for, but every little bit helps.
That's why voting for these pieces in this contest might be really super awesome. I'd really appreciate it.

I'm doin' art for this awesome game!!
