Time, wish of the Sacrifice. || 30inch tall x something wide || watercolour

This is a new cover for ASPS Part 2 [link] and is the 4th addition to my series of paintings dedicated to high vocabulary words that start with s. Although sacrifice isn't really a high vocab word ... but you know it COULD be. The other three are Saternine, Sanguine, and Sanctify. I drew this idea in June, redrew in July, partially colored in photoshop in August, lost my file in August, transferred drawing to watercolour paper in September, painted in October, and am finally done after scanning it NINE TIMES. AT 400 DPI. (clap please) Note - if you hadn't figured it out yet, I title my serious deviations l i k e t h i s.

I might post another deviation later of detail shots.

S a c r i f i c e by ~blix-it is an incredibly whimsical piece. Boasting a somewhat dark illustration style aside a painterly abstract impressionist background that cries of early modern art. (Suggested by $damphyr and Featured by `mangapunksai)

Heh... I could try and critique it if you'd like. I'll probably just end up oogling over it, though. I really dunno much about this style and am just fascinated by it. The whole borderline abstract thing is very foreign to me. :nod:

30 inches tall...? then how in the world did u get that scanned?
omg, this is so amazing @________@ i love all those umbrellas...it adds a very interesting touch to the whole image....and that touch of orange in the back....this whole pic is really cool, and the way u coloured it to bring out the detail is awesome! and that water on the ground....its just amazing...im left absolutely speechless....this is really great! and the runny washed out look gives it that 'wet' feeling, like this pic was with him in the rain (hot bishie....love the pose) yeah, i have nothing bad to say about this. its reallllly good!

Yay. It'd be so much fun if you came home with me, though it wouldn't have to be all that interesting. I don't think my house is very fun... but that's probably because I live here. We could always look at my retainer and see if mold is growing on it, yet. Or I could throw it at you... or drop it on your lap... haha.

Blix got a DD! Well-deserved, too- I'm surprised you haven't gotten one sooner.
The composition and the orange light are what really draw me in to this one- the hints of orange in the puddle are a great touch and pull the top & bottom halves of the composition together nicely. Awesome work! ^^
