Daniel Smith watercolor Arches 140lb Cold Press paper
I kind of love painting still lifes??? Is that an okay thing to love? I kind of envision my future old lady self going through a classy phase in which I paint elegant still lifes. I'm too into comics and games to do nothing but still lifes right now, but someday, I'm going to do them AND I'm going to wear a decidedly refined black turtleneck while doing them. And probably glasses with thick rims.
Yes. It's decided. I have 50 years to work towards this goal.
I love the artist's comment on this piece, it made me laugh and go "D'aww" at the same time. You can definitely be that old lady. I like both of these, especially the bottles with the sharp white ambient light.
Really good work on this...Red and green are complementary colors to each other and the hue and ratio is just perfect! This is why i love watercolor so much...The layering of dried to wet watercolor is always one of my favorites...One question though...Did you use any kind of masking for some bits, or just fine brushes and steady hands? I have experimented some time ago with liquid rubber mask but i found it stuck to the paper often.... Excellent work as always....
