Of all the pages in TG, this is one of my top favorites, if not my most favorite page to date. I really hope in the far future to come back to this page and point out all its meanings that are yet unrevealed in the comic. Most obvious is the Ouroboros.

The fish is such a Blessed Curse. She gives herself up to be ate by the bird, who will bring her light to the Underworld. All life in the Underworld will spring from this death, but the bird does not know yet what sort of terrible curse he has willingly swallowed.
